4/4/23 Update -Too much snow to get to the Barrens!

As of 4/3/2023, there is still approximately 20 inches of snow in the Namekagon Barrens Wildlife Area. Access is impossible to much of the property. DNR staff intend to return to the property on Tuesday (4/11) and will provide another update next week. We are expected to begin to warm up starting this weekend, so think warm thoughts everyone!

We will continue to add updates as we have more information. DNR staff are contacting people with reservations in the week ahead to let them know about access conditions.

There are still viewing blind reservation dates open in May for people that want to change early-April reservations until we have more spring weather!
